HARRY CUTMORE CHAIRS ABORIGINAL CONSULTATIVE COMMITTEE

After years of planning, an Aboriginal Community Consultative Committee has been formed in Tamworth, which consists of nine representatives from various indigenous organisations.

It will work with council on community events, such as Naidoc and Reconcilliation Week.

Late yesterday Harry Cutmore, who heads the Local Aboriginal Land Council, was elected Chair of the committee.

“Through all of these organisations working together we become uh as a community, certainly the Aboriginal community, we become more uh united in any approach on whoever may want to consult with our local Aboriginal community.”

The group will meet bi-monthly, with its next meeting scheduled for May.
