EDWARDS, O’DONNELL LEAVE KNIGHTS

Cessnock’s Joel Edwards has rejected a two-year offer, rumoured to be worth more than $300,000, and will move on from the Knights at the end of the season.
The club is shocked, and it’s lost another young gun this afternoon, with 21-year-old Kyle O’Donnell signing with Penrith on a two-year contract.
Meanwhile, Newcastle Rugby League held a think-tank last night to address what some are calling a one-sided competition.
“It’s not much have good having the strongest team in the comp if only four teams survive.”
The clubs have agreed to a new signing system for next season, which will make sure the top five teams can only poach one rep or first grade player from rival clubs.
