NORTH EAST FOREST ALLIANCE SLAMS EPA FOR DROPPING ILLEGAL LOGGING CASE

The North East Forest Alliance has labelled the Environmental Protection Authority as “failed regulators” after it dropped the case against Forests New South Wales over alleged illegal logging at Doubleduke State Forest, west of Evans Head.

Forests New South Wales is accused of cutting down 120 trees in an endangered ecological community, a breach the Alliance claims is backed by expert evidence.

“Now they’ve just dropped the case without any explanation, no actions been taken, and there’s a range of other breeches we found there as well, and they’re not taking any action on those either”

The North East Forest Alliance will meet with the EPA tomorrow.
