A plan for a nine-storey hotel on Newcastle’s Wharf Road is on public exhibition until next Tuesday.
If approved, the 4,000 square metre site will be transformed into a 220-room hotel with conference facilities, a restaurant and carpark.
Millionaire investor Jerry Schwarz is behind the project, which will be built opposite his Crowne Plaza hotel.
It’s a $24-million plan, meaning Newcastle Council will make a recommendation, but the Joint Regional Planning Panel will the final say.
