SAVE A GREYHOUND

It’s estimated 20,000 greyhounds are bred every year in Australia, yet only a small portion will make it onto the race track.

Rescue Group, Friends of the Hound, says it desperately needs more foster carers on the Central Coast, to save more greyhounds from an uncertain future.

  1. Thanks for running this story. We adopted a greyhound after fostering her. She had raced for 4 years and would have been put down if the rescue group did not take her from her trainers.
There are only so many that can be rescued. There is a growing gambling problem in our community and it’s sad that animals are a part of of that.

The greyhound we have lives with 2 cats and 4 chooks and needs about 20 mins walk a day…they are so easy to look after.

    Thank you
