HOPES FADING TO FIND MISSING WORKER WHO FELL OVERBOARD

Hopes are fading that a Ukranian man who fell overboard from a bulk carrier on the New South Wales north coast will be found alive.

Helicopters have been searching for the 36-year-old man in waters between Byron Bay and Evans Head since about 7 o’clock on Saturday night.

Four helicopters, an aircraft and a NSW water police boat resumed the search this morning 15-33 nautical miles off the coast.

It’s believed he wasn’t wearing a life jacket when he went missing from the ship which is on its way to Newcastle.
