Upgrades at Ballina’s Jetboat Rescue service are set to provide the organisation with faster response times.
The $30,000 revamp was officially opened this morning and includes a new pontoon walkway and a larger launch ramp.
The work is set to improve patient access to ambulance pick-up points and reduce response times by five minutes.
“When we get a call out we can launch the boat, there’s a winch so we can just hit the button and it actually takes longer to put a wetsuit on than to launch the boat and get going”
