SEA LEVEL RISE ENCODING SCRAPPED

A sea level rise policy affecting around 9,000 Central Coast residents has been scrapped.
Gosford Council resolved to remove controversial encoding from planning certificates until a clear state government direction on the matter is established.
Well Mayor Maher, you didnt seem too concerned about the communities angst when you voted to keep the 149(5) encoding, and even less concerned when you stated that the encoding could not possibly have affected property values, or that the coastal residents who have experienced insurance increases of thousands of dollars were complaining about nothing.
You only got upset when you realised that confidential plans to abandon residents had leaked from Council.
Gosford Council seems to have 1 rule for The Landing Project and another far less favorable rule for the 9000 property owners Council deems to be at risk from IPCC projected sea level rise in the year 2100.
The Landing project gets a proposal to fund $265 Million to raise the level of the Gosford waterfront so Lendlease can build high rise on public land and 9000 owners get abandoned by the faceless men of Gosford Council.
I have been a life long Liberal voter but I was appalled at the Liberals lack of support for the removal of the 149(5) certification, most of them absented themselves from the meting to avoid the issue.
Gosford Council needs a clean out from Councillors to its bureaucracy, with very few exceptions all have failed the ratepayers of Gosford .
