Close to 7,000 people braved the chilly morning to take part in the first events for this year’s Gold Coast Marathon.
There was the 10 kay run first-up, with the 5 point 7 kilometre challenge following, Many entrants poundinG the pavement to raise funds for charity.
It was the kids’ turn next…a record 1500 little ones taking part in the junior dash events.
While there were plenty trying to take out first place, others needed some extra support with mum or dad by their side.
The weekend’s drawcard events – the 42 kilometre and half marathon kick-off tomorrow morning.
