A post mortem has been carried out on a body found at Broadwater on Thursday, but police haven’t released any more details on the bizarre discovery.
The 54-year-old man was found on the floor of a home on River Street, amid reports he had been decapitated.
Officers spent the weekend combing for evidence and say further property searches may be needed.
The State’s Homicide Squad has taken over the investigation and formed a special taskforce.
