A busy road at Cardiff was closed for much of the day, while police investigated a serious accident involving a pedestrian.
Just after 11am, a woman aged in her 50s was trying to cross Macquarie Road when she was hit by a truck.
She suffered severe leg injuries and was taken to John Hunter Hospital, where she’s said to be in a serious condition.
The driver wasn’t injured but was required to undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
Crash investigation police are calling for witnesses to come forward.
