A Pizza delivery driver was robbed at knife point in central Newcastle last night. He was making a delivery, just before 10.00pm at Bellview Street near Hunter street west when he was approached by a man with a 30cm knife. A small amount of money was taken.
An 18 year old from Kurri has been charged over a police pursuit near Thornton overnight. Police allege the man was driving an unregistered, uninsured Honda Prelude with false number plates.
Also in Hunter news the Kurri Kurri chamber of Commerce is to rally today seeking some certainty over power contracts for the Hydro Aluminium plant.
