A TASTE OF JAPAN IN COFFS HARBOUR

Japanese culture was celebrated in Coffs Harbour today at the sixth annual ‘Festival of Children’s Day’.

Traditional music, calligraphy and even fish kept crowds entertained for hours.

“We came for the drumming and the drumming’s been really good, so we’re really happy we came for that… and the food’s been good too.”

“We’re so lucky to have these botanic gardens in Coffs Harbour. It’s really quite a special environment and we can come out and not be amongst the huge crowds. It’s a busy day but it’s not as big as it would be in Sydney.”

The event recognises the national ‘Children’s Day’ holiday in Japan.
