CFMEU SAYS THERE IS EVIDENCE OF TOXIC CHEMICALS AT PACIFIC HIGHWAY SITE

A union has claimed it has evidence that dangerous chemicals were buried on the stretch of the Pacific Highway where road workers became ill.
Construction Forestry and Mining Union Secretary, Brian Parker says he has government and police reports that prove toxic pesticides and cancerous chemicals were buried at the site, including the deadly pesticide DDT, which was banned in 1987, and chromium.
Several workers on the Pacific Highway upgrade reportedly suffered nausea and vomiting after digging up a clay like substance in early April.
The Roads and Maritime Services says independent testing ruled out a range of contaminants.
