Police say a Ballina truckie had a lucky escape after his 20 tonne garbage truck rolled off St Helena road this morning.
The 63 year old had pulled up to let another car pass, when the dirt road gave out, causing the truck to roll down the embankment.
“The driver was trapped for a short period of time before being released by onlookers, but it could have been a lot worse if the vehicle had of rolled down the hill it would have been a lot worse ”
The driver was uninjured.
