BANKSIA PETITION DEBATED IN STATE PARLIAMENT

The ongoing push for better mental health in-patient services in Tamworth continues to gain traction, being debated in state parliament late yesterday.
More than 13,000 people signed a petition circulated by the local carers’ support group, which says conditions in Banksia are badly in need updating with more beds required.
“Pushing hard to get our fair share of funding to upgrade Banksia. In the chamber, in the News South Wales Parliament was some members of the Tamworth Mental Health Carers’ Support Group,” Kevin Anderon, Member for Tamworth.
