BELLINGEN GOES SOLAR

Bellingen Council has spent more than $130,000 installing solar panels on all of its council buildings.
Mayor Dominic King says it’s another step in council’s mission to brand the shire as one of the most sustainable in Australia.
“To invest in more solar and renewable energy because it makes really good economic sense and really really good environmental sense.”
The system is expected to produce enough power to run the Raleigh Works Depot, and supply 30 percent of the administration buildings energy needs.
