A 19 year old shop assistant at the Rutherford IGA store was held up at knife point overnight.
Around 6.30, a man pretending to be a customer approached the checkout with two bottles of spirits but then pulled a knife from his backpack.
He’s described as around 175cm in height with dark brown hair in a pony tail.
Meanwhile a police strike force targetting recent robberies at Port Stephens arrested two men overnight. A 23 year old from Mayfield and a 25 year old from Raymond Terrace, have been charged over hold ups at the Clarence Town post office and clubs at Tanilba Bay and Lemon Tree Passage.
