HUNTER BROTHERS AWARDED FOR BRAVERY

Two Hunter brothers who risked their lives trying to rescue a co-worker more than 30 years ago, have finally been awarded for their bravery.

Trevor and Neil McLennan were working at the Nymboida Mine, west of Grafton, in 1976, when an explosion tore through one of the tunnels.

Governor General Quentin Bryce today announced the brothers will receive a group bravery award for their courage.
