NEW BRIDGE FOR BOOTAWA ROAD

Work to fix one of the worst affected sites from Taree’s June floods will soon be underway.
A culvert on Bootawa Road was completely destroyed, making access to the dam for MidCoast Water near impossible.
“We’re looking to replace that with a bridge so we don’t have a washout in the future and we’re looking to have that replaced by the middle of this year which is great.”
It’s costing around $400,000 to replace – most of the funds will come from the state government’s disaster relief.
Work is due to start next month.
