A head-on crash near the Williamtown RAAF base today claimed the life of a 20-year-old man.
His vehicle and a cement truck collided on Medowie Road at Campvale just after 10am.
Emergency crews from the RAAF base assisted police and paramedics, but the driver of the badly-damaged Suzuki couldn’t be saved.
The truck driver, a man aged in his 70s, was treated for minor injuries at the scene and taken to John Hunter Hospital for observation.
Police crash investigators examined the scene.
Doug the 20year old was seriously the most beautiful. Kind hearted guy I have ever met, and so set on his career he chose. Rest in peace Doug Bell.
