MAN FALLS FIVE METRES INTO CANYON

A 31-year-old man is recovering in John Hunter Hospital, after falling five metres into a canyon while rock climbing west of Coffs Harbour yesterday.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was able to lower a medical team into the canyon in the Bindarri National Park.
The man was treated at the scene and later airlifted to safety around 6 o’clock last night.
SES personnel also helped a male and female friend reach the top of the ravine.
The man has been treated for multiple injuries, including head and chest injuries.
