COMMUNITY CENTRE SAYS THANKS FOR MUCH-NEEDED FUNDING

A Hamilton-based community centre has received a new lease on life.
Much-needed maintenance work has been carried out on the Hellenic Community and Cultural Centre, thanks to a $32,000 state grant.
“We had a lot of water leaking issues, water absorbent issues, obviously outside the entrance was all falling apart so now it’s like a brand new centre again,” said Paul Milonas from the Hellenic Community and Cultural Centre.
Today members of the Holy Apostles Greek community thanked the government for its support.
“We recognise they do a lot of good work in the community, with the migrant community, the aged community, the youth, young mothers so look we thought it was worth helping,” said Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald.
