ACTION-PACKED DAY OF RUGBY LEAGUE

A women’s competition won’t go ahead at the inaugural Forster Sevens rugby league tournament tomorrow, because it didn’t get the numbers.

But there are 17 teams entered for the men’s competition, including local teams the Forster-Tuncurry Hawks and the Taree City Bulls.

A host of strong Sydney teams are lined up for the challenge, as well as others travelling from the Central Coast and Quirindi, near Tamworth.

It’s expected to be an action-packed day, with organisers predicting around 200 tries to be scored.

The first game kicks off at 11.40am at Harry Elliot Oval in Tuncurry.
