OXLEY HWY NOT ON TIME, BUT UNDER BUDGET

Port Macquarie’s Oxley Highway upgrade will finally open to traffic tomorrow morning.

While it may not be delivered on time because of weather delays, the project has come in under budget.

Originally costed at $158-million, the six-kilometre upgrade is set to come in at $115-million.

Vehicles will be switched onto the new dual carriageways between Wrights Road and the Pacific Highway mid-morning.

The upgraded stretch is expected to reduce travel times and improve safety on the busy arterial road.
