The inquest into the death of 19-year-old surf life saving competitor Saxon Bird continues in Brisbane today.
On day one, the Coroners Court heard a police officer ordered swimmers out of the water at last year’s National Surf Lifesaving titles despite believing they had the best chance of finding him.
The Gold Coast Show will move to Carrara, and Parklands developed into a residential and health and wellbeing centre, even if the city doesn’t secure the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
The announcement comes as Queensland Premier Anna Bligh and Gold Coast Mayor Ron Clark head to Kuala Lumpur as part of the bid team.
