Hunter-based social workers and psychologists took part in a workshop today, to gain a better understanding of the needs of male survivors of childhood sexual assault.
The Survivors and Mates Support Network will hold another workshop – this one for victims and their supporters – on May 30.
According to the support group co-founder Shane McNamara, “Since the Royal Commission was announced a couple of years ago, we’ve noticed a lot more men are coming forward and needing some assistance.”
