The Environment Protection Authority has given Orica the green light to restart its troubled Kooragang Island ammonia plant.
The plant has been closed since August after a plume of the potentially harmful chemical, hexavalent chromium, drifted over nearby Stockton.
It’s now been cleared to restart from tomorrow.
Orica is still trying to rebuild trust in the community amid successive mishaps and intense scrutiny from authorities.
