A man in his 50s has died following a three car pileup on the intersection of the Bruxner and New England Highways just north of Tenterfield.
Police say the cars collided just before 1pm, causing injuries to up to eight other people.
Both lanes of the New England Highway were closed for several hours while emergency services attended the scene.
