QUARTER HORSE VERSATILITY COMES TO THE FORE

The National Quarter Horse Championships has taken over Tamworth this week, with more than 400 competitors from across Australia.
Trail Riding took centre stage today, with riders taking their mounts through a set course, hoping to avoid the hazards.
Competition will escalate on Friday night to include barrel racing and team roping, with Quarter Horses known to be one of the most versatile breeds.
“Be nice and calm when they’re asked to go forward. In say a barrel, or even team roping, they’re able to stop on a dime basically.”
Meanwhile a campdraft will be run on Saturday.
