A life long passion for maritime history by a Port Macquarie local has culminated in a special display at Taree’s library.
‘Memories of the Manning’ is a tribute to the local shipping industry, with handmade models and a written history about each vessel.
The T.S.S. Rosedale was a regular trader on the Manning River, but was lost in a gale in 1911.
Other ships that worked on the Manning include the P.W. Manning Iron Paddle Steamer and the Bucket Dredge Ulysses.
The display took almost 12 months to create and wraps up at the library tomorrow afternoon.
