The Mid North Coast Local Health Network has received a big mention at the Premier’s public sector awards, with Port Macquarie Base Hospital outperforming the rest of New South Wales in two categories.
The hospital’s frontline physiotherapy program won the award for Innovation in Service Delivery.
The program offers immediate physiotherapy diagnosis and treatment within the emergency department for patients with basic injuries, cutting down waiting times.
The hospital’s “Peace of Mind” program, which aims to improve safety and care for patients with a cognitive impairment, won the award for Excellence in Delivery.
