A controversial proposal for a mosque at Elermore Vale could be back on the agenda, with the Newcastle Muslim Association lodging amended plans in the Land and Environment Court.
The initial design was rejected by the Joint Regional Planning Panel, on the grounds the $6-million mosque would create unacceptable traffic and parking issues.
The association believes the new plans will be successful, arguing that Newcastle City Council was unreasonable in its determination of the previous application.
