SECOND ROUND OF HEALTH TESTS ON WORKERS AFTER ORICA AMMONIA LEAK.

Two rail workers who were hospitalised with breathing difficulties after a chemical spill from the Orica plant near Newcastle, are undergoing a second round of health checks today.
The men who were working at Mayfield were effected by the ammonia release from the nearby Orica plant, yesterday afternoon.
An emergency notication process was instigated air quality testing continued into the night.
The latest spill follows the discharge of hexavalent chromium which drifted over the suburb of Stockton in August and yesterday’s incident coincided with the EPA announcing it would prosecute Orica of the August spill.
