The future of Macksville’s saleyards won’t be settled for several months following a decision by the Nambucca Shire Council to consider an offer to buy the facility.
The saleyards, which have been losing money, could end up being operated by the Macksville Show Society, which wants to buy the show ground and everything on it.
The premises are home to the Macksville Show and other events including the Rusty Iron Rally.
The Show Society will conduct due diligence before making a final offer.
