STORM BATTERED HOSPITAL UNDERGOING DAMAGE ASSESSMENTS

Campbell Hospital in Coraki is undergoing a safety assessment, after its roof was severely damaged in Sunday’s vicious hail storm.
Patients and staff had to be evacuated and transferred to Casino hospital after the weather event tore through the small town.
“The Campbell hospital has been caught in a couple of bad storms previously but I don’t think any as bad as this level of hail on Sunday.”
The Northern New South Wales Health District has lodged an insurance claim and is waiting for a damage assessment report to determine the cost of repairs.
It’s not yet known when the hospital will re-open.
