Back to the wild weather, and the local SES say last night’s thunder and hail storm on the Far North Coast is a timely reminder that the storm season is approaching.
Volunteers have been out spreading the word this week, encouraging residents to prepare now.
Their top tips to minimise the risk of damage are to trim branches, secure loose outdoor items and clean gutters.
“The number of calls we get where the water has entered the house, its dripping through the light fittings and the ceiling, is because the gutters haven’t been cleared.”
The storm season runs from October to March.
