A 16 year old boy has been charged over a house fire at Lennox Head yesterday afternoon.
Just before three o’clock the boy allegedly entered his parent’s bedroom with two jerry cans of petrol, a lighter and deodorant.
Police say he wrote offensive words on the carpet with the deodorant, before setting it alight.
Despite the efforts of fire crews, 95% of the home was destroyed.
The boy was charged with recklessly destroying a property with fire and will front Ballina Children’s Court in November
