The Rural Fire Service is battling a blaze on a remote property north of Nimbin.
Firefighters arrived just after one o’clock to find a house and shed engulfed in flames.
The haz-mat unit was also called to deal with a diesel leak.
“Fire fighters are being taken out and in on quad bikes. we have been able to get two rural fire services up there but then again, getting specialised equipment up there is proving difficult.”
