Why do media reports refer to communities in opposition to mining as protestors? these are farmers, doctors, educators, mothers, fathers, child care workers, small business operators, in short ‘communities’. Communities saying NO! No you do not have right to a social licence to ride roughshot over our properties, land values, livelihoods & environment. Lets face it the rigourous regulation that is claimed to exist is appallingly flawed. Just look at the inability to monitor dust emmissions & stay within regulations.the “independent ” audits are riddled with non compliance. Gov’t agencies havnt resources to thoroughly review. Rehabiliation is absent & floral &faunal terrestrial & aquatic impacts are many.Enough is enough!
