CENTRAL COAST FC TO BE FAREWELLED

After 33 years Central Coast FC will play its final game this Friday night at Pluim Park.
The senior representative football side has been disbanded due to a partnership with the Mariners to create an academy for younger players.
Whilst the Mariner`s deal with CCF looks good on paper it effectively puts a glass ceiling on elite footballers within this region.
The Mariner`s youth team (reserves) will be made up of talented players from all over the country.(see previous press releases) thus enabling only the most talented one or two players from Central Coast a chance to play for them.
So what happenes to the remaining players who have been in the development program but are not good enough for National Youth League?
They will be forced into the Northern NSW comp or the Sydney competition as there won`t be any other avenue for them.
The CCF has abandoned their role in developing players, to save money.
It`s an economic decision, there`s no doubt about that.
They need the money for office rental & cars for an administration that doesn`t accept their responsilibies within the football community.
This decision is a disgrace for most young footballer`s..
how sad that a entity that is supposed to be all about football dumps the local men who have supported them. the local juniors strive to make it to first grade but if you live on the central coast forget it. Its a total disgrace.
Everybody who knows me, knows my thoughts on this. It is a disgrace and a slap in the face to all young footballers on the Central Coast.
Central Coast Football is supposed to administer and promote the game in the local area, but to be true they are not at all interested in senior representative football. The only thing they want to promote is their own image, and that is about how not to run the game locally!
The joint venture of an Academy with the Mariners is an excellent idea, but to what avail? Developing young players for other clubs in other areas!
