A 53-year-old Yamba woman is recovering in hospital after being stabbed multiple times at her Yamba home yesterday afternoon.
She suffered cuts to her throat, chest and arms in the attack.
A 54-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder.
Police say the man locked himself in a car for more than six hours after the incident, before he was tasered and taken into custody.
The woman is being treated at the Lismore Base Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
