Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward following an armed robbery at the Moonee Beach Tavern on Thursday night.
At around 11.30, a 23-year-old man was closing the tavern when he was confronted by three males armed with an axe, screwdriver and a tree branch.
The employee fled and hid at a nearby road works site before making his way to a house where he was able to call police.
Police say the robbers made off with a sum of cash.
