NEW SKATE PARK ON THE WAY

Port Macquarie’s ailing Town Beach skate park is about to get a $700,000 makeover.
Demolition work is due to start this week to remove the old facility to make way for a new skate park, which will come complete with landscaping and outdoor furniture.
Local skaters have been involved in the decision-making process, including the design of the new facility which will cater for skateboards, scooters, bikes and in-line skates.
Council hopes the new skate park will be operating in time for the summer school holidays.
