In the NBN State League, Lake Macquarie beat the Phoenix, the Gunners held the Magic, West Wallsend upset Weston, while Edgie beat Hamilton in a goal festival.
The Eagles made a perfect start, when Joel Wood caught the Olympic defenders napping.

Wood scored the second of his four goals approaching half time, getting the better of Mat Austin.

Hamilton was awarded a penalty shortly before the break, with John Majurovski grabbing the first of his three goals for the afternoon.
