FUNDING TO IMPROVE MANNING RIVER’S WATER QUALITY

Greater Taree City Council has been awarded $25,000 in State Government funding, to help improve the health of the Manning River.
The money, which has been matched by council, will fund campaigns to help raise community awareness of how human activities can impact the river’s water quality.
It will also go towards collecting and monitoring data for a ‘State of the Manning’ report card.
The grant was allocated through the Office of Environment and Heritage’s Estuary Management Program.
