WOMAN SHOT BY POLICE WASN’T ARMED
An investigation of the scene where a 24-year-old woman was shot in the head by a police officer early Tuesday morning, has found that she was unarmed.
Georgia Kirby was shot as police attempted to arrest her and boyfriend Bradley Taylor in an allegedly stolen car on Mikinos Street.
Both officers have undergone drug and alcohol testing, while Taylor has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle.
Georgia Kirby is recovering in Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.
