The Kensington on Hunter Street will open as a cultural centre, as it fights for a liquor licence through the Supreme Court.
Management says it wants to utilise the venue in the meantime by serving up underground fashion, art and music.
That will start next Wednesday with a DJ competition, followed by a fashion show on Friday night.
The Kensington says it’ll resume its plans to operate as a nightclub if a liquor licence is granted.
