Byron Bay surfer Kieren Perrow has just managed to advance in the Rio Pro, after narrowly defeating American Gabe Kling in round two.
Kling took an early lead but Perrow fought back to score a heat total of 11.5, just point one ahead.
“you know you just kinda don’t feel like your getting stuck into a wave in there and all of sudden it’s finished, I was pretty lucky in the end he didn’t get the score I had priority and let him go inside the little one, so it’s a bit nerve-racking when you do that”
Perrow will now join fellow Far North Coasters, Owen Wright and Daniel Ross in round three.
