BYRON SHIRE MAYOR APPEALS FOR LICENCE FOLLOWING LOW RANGE DRINK DRIVING CHARGE

Byron Shire’s mayor fronted Byron Bay Local Court today over a low range drink driving charge.
Just over a month ago Michael Lyon recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.059 behind the wheel.
Today he appealed to have his licence handed back, citing work and family reasons, but the appeal was dismissed.
